FORT HOOD (September 10, 2012)-- The 1st Cavalry Division is hosting a Distinguished Service and Welcome Ceremony, Patch Ceremony, and the division’s 91st birthday.
The events will be rolled into one at 9 a.m. on Thursday at Cooper Field.
Retiring troopers will be honored as well as individuals throughout the cavalry with distinguished service.
Brigadier General Thomas James, deputy commanding general for maneuvers of the division and Command Sgt. James Norman who will command the First Team will be welcomed by America’s First Team.
Following both ceremonies, a cake cutting will take place inside division headquarters in honor of the 1st Cavalry’s 91 years of service to the United States.
