FORT HOOD (September 14, 2012)—Despite forming only a year ago, the 81st Civil Affairs Battalion has already received orders that they will be deploying to Afghanistan.
The 81st Civil Affairs Battalion will assist the unit in a CULFEX which is slated for Saturday.
The CULFEX is an exercise the commander uses to certify and prepare civil affairs soldiers for deployment, a spokesperson said.
