FORT HOOD (January 22, 2013)—First Army Division West will hold a change of command ceremony Wednesday on Cameron Field.
Maj. Gen. Warren E. Phipps Jr. will assume command of Division West from Maj. Gen. Perry L. Wiggins.
Wiggins will serve as deputy commanding general of United States Army North at Fort Sam Houston.
Phipps most recently served as the deputy director for regional operations for the joint staff at the Pentagon.
Division West is responsible for training and validating Army National Guard and Army Reserve soldiers for upcoming deployments.
The ceremony begins at 10 a.m.
