Fort Hood: Division West Hosts Halloween Festivities Saturday

FORT HOOD (October 24, 2012)--The Division West Halloween open house and fun run will provide family entertainment Saturday.

A 5k competitive run will begin at 9 a.m. and participants will be in costume.

Costumes are encouraged for the 1-mile family fun run at 11 a.m.

Race courses will be designed with obstacles and Halloween-themed surprises.

Military equipment static displays, free barbeque lunch, concert and “trunk or treating” will be among the activities.

The lunch, to be served at noon, will be donated by the All American Beef Battalion and the concert will be provided by the Clayton Adams Band.

Prizes will be awarded to the person with the best costume, fastest survivor and the best decorated trunk.

The trunk or treating fun is set to begin at 1 p.m. and wrap up at about 2 p.m.

The public is invited to participate in the activities which will get underway on North Fort Hood, about five miles southeast of Gatesville.
