FORT HOOD (March 4, 2013)--A ceremony Monday will honor Fort Hood’s east gate with a new name, symbolizing the efforts of Frank W. Mayborn who helped establish Camp Hood.
At 2 p.m. east gate, near the intersection of Tank Destroyer Boulevard and Fort Hood Street, will be named the Frank Mayborn Gate.
Lt. Gen. Mark Milley will be the keynote speaker followed by the unveiling of a Frank W. Mayborn monument.
Sue Mayborn, the spouse of Frank Mayborn, will also make comments at the ceremony.
The event will be held at the gate.
