Fort Hood: Exercise On Post Tests New Training Environment

FORT HOOD (September 18, 2012)--More than 600 soldiers from the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, will be testing the Army’s new Integrated Training Environment through the 28th.

Activities include both staged battles and simulated environments to include high-tech laser tag systems, helicopter simulators and a specialized computer that provides commanders with a realistic picture of the battlefield.

The Army’s National Simulation Center out of Kansas will evaluate the system's first field test.

The Integrated Training Environment uses innovative computer software to link Army training systems with communication system, saving time and money, a Fort Hood spokesperson said.
