FORT HOOD (September 24, 2012)--Sesame Street characters will be asking how to get to 62nd Street as they get ready for their performance at Abrams Physical Fitness Center Tuesday and Wednesday.
The free 60-minute show, sponsored by the USO, will get underway Tuesday at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. and is open to military members and their families.
Wednesday’s performances are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.
The tour includes Elmo, Cookie Monster, Grover, Rosita and Katie.
Katie is a new 6-year-old character created specially for the tour.
Her father is in the military and has been transferred to another post, resulting in a family move. Her Sesame Street friends use song and dance to help her work through the changes facing her family and fears and excitements about making new friends.
Cameras will be allowed inside but video cameras will not. However, a cast photo will be made available on the USO’s Flickr account.
The show is targeted to children ages 1-6, but all children are welcome.
The USO will also hold a free giveaway of an Elmo twirly light and USO bandanas.
The fitness center is located at 62nd Street and Support Avenue.
