FORT HOOD (November 21, 2012)--Brig. Gen. James M. Richardson will be the temporary replacement for Lt. Gen. Donald Campbell, who will relinquish command November 28.
Congress confirmed Campbell for reappointment to the rank of lieutenant general and for assignment as commanding general, U.S. Army Europe and Seventh Army, Germany, earlier this year.
Richardson will be the temporary replacement until the permanent replacement, Maj. Gen. Mark A. Milley, the commanding general of the 10th Mountain Division and Fort Drum in New York, arrives to Fort Hood.
Milley’s initial assignment was with the 82nd Airborne Division and later the 5th Special Forces Group at Fort Bragg.
Before assuming command of Fort Drum, he served as the Joint Staff's Deputy Director for Regional Operations at the Pentagon.
The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. at the III Corps Headquarters’ flagpole.
