FORT HOOD (September 27, 2012)--Operation Rising Star, a singing competition for military families, will be held Friday at the Phantom Warrior Center.
Like American Idol, the competition is judged by a panel of judges for a chance to win the first place prize of $500.
The winner will move on to the Army-wide competition for the chance to win the Ultimate Recording Music Experience, recording and mastering a demo with industry professionals.
The prize also includes a three day trip to Los Angeles for the winner and a guest.
The most supportive audience member or unit to attend each local performance date will also receive $300.
Friday’s performance is the final performance in the series.
The fun gets underway at 7 p.m. at the Phantom Warrior Center on 37th Street.
