Fort Hood: Officials Release Name Of Soldier Found Dead At His Home

FORT HOOD (April 23, 2013)--Fort Hood officials on Tuesday released the name of a soldier who was found dead Sunday at his home off-post.

Spc. Elliot Rafael Davis, 26, of Georgia, was found unresponsive and pronounced dead at his Bell County home just after 7 a.m. Sunday.

Davis entered the military in January 2008 as an ammunition specialist and arrived at Fort Hood shortly after.

He was assigned to 664th Ordnance Company, 13th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) at Fort Hood.

Davis deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from December 2008 to December 2009.

His awards and decorations include: the Army Commendation Medal, two Army Achievement Medals, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and Driver and Mechanic Badge with Driver Wheeled Vehicle.

His cause of death is under investigation.
