FORT HOOD (October 9, 2012)—Oktoberfest is just around the corner.
Children and adult activities are planned for Friday, to include live music, a pumpkin patch, face painting, arts and crafts and bounce houses for the kids.
Adults will enjoy a beer stein race, strong man competition, a most festive Oktoberfest costume contest, and a yodeling contest.
A German band will be performing live and authentic German food, drinks and arts and crafts vendors will be available.
A traditional beer tent will also be on site.
The free event is open to all and is set to begin at 5 p.m. in the Phantom Warrior Center’s parking lot on 37th Street.
The fun will conclude at 11 p.m.
