FORT HOOD (November 1, 2012)--Fort Hood is one of six Army installations slated to construct a National Intrepid Center of Excellence Satellite facility to provide comprehensive care and treatment to soldiers with traumatic brain injuries and complex diagnoses, Fort Hood’s medical center commander announced Thursday.
Funding for the centers will come from the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund and the time frame for completion will depend on fundraising, site approval and priority, Carl. R. Darnall Army Medical Center Commander Col. Patrick Sargent said.
If all goes as planned, the facility is proposed to open December of 2015.
