FORT HOOD (November 30, 2012)--A three-year-old boy from Fort Hood suffering from Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome will receive his Christmas wish this year.
Xavier has spent every Christmas of his life in the hospital and this year will be no different, except for one thing.
Make-A-Wish Central and South Texas will grant his wish to have a Mickey Mouse-themed Christmas celebration at his home on post.
The wish will be complete with Christmas lights, a tree, stockings and presents and a surprise visit from Santa Claus.
On Saturday, volunteers will prepare the house while his family is sent out to enjoy the day together.
In the evening, Xavier’s wish will be granted, a present he is not expecting.
Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome is an illness that occurs when the left side of the heart does not fully develop.
Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human life.
