FORT HOOD (June 20, 2012)—Fort Hood Wednesday identified a soldier who died Saturday after he was found unresponsive in his off-post residence in Harker Heights as Staff Sgt. Donald Perry Sumner Jr., 41, of Augusta, Ga.
He had been assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division’s 67th Forward Support Company, 41st Fires Brigade, since May.
He deployed to Iraq from February 2003 to February 2004, January 2005 to January 2006, May 2007 and October 2007 and November 2008 to October 2009.
Circumstances surrounding his death are under investigation, Fort Hood said.
