FREESTONE COUNTY (October 10, 2012)-Three men were arrested at their residence over the weekend after sheriff's deputies found a sophisticated marijuana growing system.

Freestone County Chief Deputy Donnie Anderson said James Paul Kryfko, 52, Steven Ray Garrick Tamez, 26, and Mark Roel Ornelas, 48, were arrested Saturday at their residence on Freestone County Road 610 after deputies found marijuana growing in a large closet.

Deputies reported they found a large steel cylinder and regulator used for the release of carbon dioxide into the growing room, a grow light, tubing designed for the delivery of water to the plants and large pots of growing marijuana that was two- to five-feet tall.

Anderson said deputies also located and seized prescription narcotics, several bags of marijuana packaged for sale, 117 firearms and a large collection of coins.

Anderson said deputies released a small child who was found at the scene to a relative.

Jail records show Kryfko was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana more than 4 ounces but less than 5 pounds, and endangering a child and on an unspecified warrant issued in Henderson County.

He posted an $80,000 bond and was released, Anderson said.

Anderson said Tamez was charged with possession of marijuana more than 4 ounces but less than 5 pounds, and endangering a child.

He posted a $5,000 bond and was released, Anderson said.

Anderson said Ornelas was charged with possession of marijuana more than 4 ounces but less than 5 pounds, and endangering a child and possession of a prohibited weapon.

He posted a $20,000 bond and was released, Anderson said.
