GATESVILLE (January 8, 2013)--A Gatesville man was held Tuesday in the Coryell County Jail after police say his ex-wife was assaulted and another man was threatened with a gun outside of a local supermarket.
Christopher Edwards Evans, 34, is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and illegally carrying a weapon, police said.
Gatesville police Chief Nathan Gohlke said officers were sent Monday evening to the 1200 block of North Lutterloh Avenue outside the H-E-B store, where a woman reported she had been attacked and that her boyfriend had been threatened with a gun.
When police arrived at the scene they arrested Evans and took him to the county jail.
Police recovered the weapon at the scene.
