GATESVILLE (October 25, 2012)--A Granbury man pleaded no contest in Wednesday in Gatesville to aggravated sexual assault of a child in an event that happened in January in the Pearl community.

State District Judge Trent Farrell sentenced Bryan Ray Roe, 33, to 45 years in state prison after Roe pleaded no contest to sexually assaulting a disabled boy on Jan. 7 at a music festival in the Pearl community.

Coryell County Justice of the Peace Coy Latham said the original complaint was signed based on a report that a 9-year-old special needs boy was lured away from his family to a different location nearby and sexually assaulted.

The victim and his family were attending a monthly bluegrass jam festival at Pearl, about 21 miles west of Gatesville.

Latham said neither Roe nor his victim was from Coryell County.

Roe was arrested at the scene in Pearl.

During the investigation deputies learned Roe was a high risk registered sex offender.

He later confessed to the allegations.
