Gatesville: Two Arrested In Early Morning Meth Raid

GATESVILLE (July 25, 2013)—Merton Lamont Barnwell, 33, and Mandi Kay Holden, 28, were in the Coryell County Jail Thursday after they were arrested during an early morning methamphetamine raid.

Officers from the Coryell County Sheriff’s Office, Gatesville Police Department, Heart of Texas Auto Theft Task Force, McGregor Police Department, and McLennan County K-9 Unit served a search warrant early Thursday in the 1800 block of East Leon Street in Gatesville and seized 62 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

The raid was the result of a six-month investigation, authorities said.

Barnwell was charged with possession with intent to deliver under 1 gram stemming from an earlier investigation and possession with intent to deliver over 4 grams but under 200 grams stemming from the raid.

Holden was charged with possession with intent to deliver over 4 grams but under 200 grams stemming from the raid.
