HARKER HEIGHTS (March 19, 2013)—A Harker Heights police negotiator was able to talk a woman whom authorities described as suicidal into surrendering her gun Tuesday.
The incident began just before 10 a.m. Tuesday after police were advised that the woman was in a vehicle and could be suicidal.
Officers found a vehicle matching the description of the woman’s in the 900 block of Warriors Path, but when they pulled it over, the woman produced a handgun and threatened to commit suicide, police said.
The area was cordoned off while the negotiator talked to the woman.
No charges were pending Tuesday afternoon.
The woman’s name was not released.
