HARKER HEIGHTS (October 23, 2012)--The construction of a turnaround bridge from west to east at the intersection of FM 2410 and US 190 will be cause for road closures Thursday.
The highway and the FM 2410 bridge will be closed from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. so that concrete beams can be placed.
Construction on the project which is designed to help traffic flow at FM 2410 and US 190 began in July.
The city hopes that the new bridge will cut down on traffic at the FM 2410 bridge, allowing people the option to more easily make a U-turn.
The cost of the project is estimated at more than $2 million and is slated for completion in March of next year.
Motorists who use the bridge to cross the highway will be able to take frontage roads and use the turnarounds at Indian Trail and Stan Schlueter Loop.
