HEWITT (June 25, 2012)—A Hewitt man was arrested over the weekend on a warrant issued after three of his neighbor’s dogs were shot on May 30.
Larry Jones was arrested Saturday night after a routine traffic stop in Hewitt.
He posted $2,500 bond on Sunday and was released from jail.
The three dogs, which belong to Mary Medina, ran off and went under a fence separating her yard from her neighbor’s after she took them outside to bathe them.
She says she heard gunfire as she ran after the pets.
She and her son took the dogs to a vet.
One dog was peppered on the side, but the other two were more seriously hurt, although none of the injuries was life threatening and all three dogs are recovering.
