HILLSBORO (January 28, 2013)—The public is invited to a free performance Monday night directed by Thespian and Comic Timothy Mooney.
Mooney is the artistic director of Chicago’s Stage Two Theatre and founder of “The Script Review.”
Monday's performance, “Lot O’ Shakespeare,” uses famous Shakespeare scenes and sonnets but transforms them into entertaining comedy.
Attendees are invited to gather in the Governor Bill Daniels Auditorium of the Vara Martin Daniel Performing Arts Center on the Hill College campus just before 7:30 p.m. when the performance is set to begin.
A reception will follow giving members of the audience an opportunity to meet Mooney.
A special workshop was held Monday afternoon for theater students entitled “Acting in the Classical Theater.”
Mooney has received numerous honors including for his piece “Doctor in Spite of Himself” which took third place in the Scottish Community Drama Association National Festival and was a finalist at Italy’s Sanremo Global Education Festival.
