KILLEEN (March 11 2013) --- A local car lot remained closed Monday after a tow truck plowed through a fence and damaged cars on the property Thursday afternoon.
Reliant Motors owner Pat Brumbalow said just after 3 p.m. on Thursday he heard a lot of loud noise in front of his car lot at 111 South 10th St. in Killeen just off East Veterans Memorial Boulevard.
When he came outside he saw a tow truck sitting in the road after it had plowed through the car lot fence and damaged multiple cars.
A power line pole was also damaged during the process and power lines were down across 10th Street.
A portion of the road was closed for several hours while crews repaired the pole and lines.
Brumbalow said a driver with Leon's Wrecker Service said he had a coughing fit and blacked out causing him to swerve off the road and hit the cars and fence.
Brumbalow said on Monday he was still waiting on the insurance adjustor to examine the damage before he could reopen for business.
He expected the total damages to be more than $10,000.
Nobody was on the lot at the time of the accident and Brumbalow said the tow truck driver was not injured.
