KILLEEN (August 1, 2014) Killeen firefighters spent about a half hour battling a house fire Friday morning.

They responded just before noon Friday after neighbors reported flames and smoke coming from the home in the 1300 block of Goodhue Drive.

The house was engulfed in flames by the time firefighters arrived, Killeen police spokeswoman Ofelia Miramontez said.

Firefighters swept the residence and determined no one was inside the house, she said.

The cause is under investigation.

A damage estimate wasn’t immediately available.

The street was closed to traffic for a couple of hours Friday afternoon while firefighters mopped up.

No one was injured.
