KILLEEN (November 9, 2012)—The American Red Cross was assisting a Killeen family Friday evening after some elementary school children arrived home to find black smoke filling their house.
The children arrived home at around 3 p.m. Friday and entered the house at 3903 Littlerock Dr. through the back door only to encounter smoke.
They got out and called 911.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire damage to the master bedroom, but smoke damaged other parts of the house.
A fire official estimated damage at about $10,000.
A woman and three children live in the house, the official said.
No one was hurt.
