KILLEEN (April 8, 2013)--The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies or CALEA has granted advanced reaccreditation to the Killeen Police Department for the next three years, the department said Monday.
The accreditation was granted on March 27 at the CALEA spring conference in Dallas.
“This advanced reaccreditation was the result of our community working together to make Killeen a better place to live. Moreover, it helps to maintain the trust our community has placed in the Killeen Police Department moving forward,” police Chief Dennis Baldwin said.
A team of professional law assessors from CALEA conducted an on-site evaluation from Dec. 2 to Dec. 5, 2012 to ensure the department met the commission’s more than 480 best practice standards.
