KILLEEN (February 8, 2013)--Jason Bellows, 40, of Killeen, was in the Bell County Jail Friday, charged with unlawfully carrying a weapon in connection with an unusual incident in the downtown area.

His bond was set at $5,000.

Residents called 911 just before 9 p.m. Thursday to report that a man had walked up to them in the 1400 block of North 2nd Street in downtown Killeen and pulled what police described as a 3-foot ninja-style sword out of a sheath.

One witness who didn't want to give his name said he called police after the man pulled the sword out in front of a group of people and laid it on the table.

"It kind of had everyone on edge because we didn't know what he was going to do with the sword or why he had it in the first place," the witness said.
