KILLEEN (March 13, 2014) A third woman was arrested Wednesday in connection with a burglary and hammer attack on a Killeen resident back in February.

April Nichole Whitfield, 34, was ordered held in lieu of $50,000 bond charged with burglary of a habitation, online Bell County Jail records showed.

Adrienne Latrice Barnes, 35, of Copperas Cove, and Nikki Crawford, 26, of Killeen, were arrested earlier in connection with the incident.

They remained in the Bell County Jail Thursday charged with burglary in connection with the same incident in lieu of $50,000 bonds.

An affidavit issued in case says on Feb. 21 an apartment at the Modern Inn on Root Avenue, was broken into while the resident was inside.

The resident, a woman, reported three women forced their way into her apartment and attacked her with a hammer and a police-style baton.

Police investigating the incident said the victim was able to identify her attackers.
