KILLEEN (March 21, 2013)- Central Texas College (CTC) announced the approval of two new programs by the board of trustees Thursday.
The board approved a new Associate of Science degree in kinesiology to begin in the fall of 2013.
This program will allow students working towards a Bachelor of Science in kinesiology an opportunity to transfer to a four-year university or college with an Associates Degree.
A non-credit certificate program in massage therapy through the Continuing Education Department was also approved.
"The demand for massage therapy has increased dramatically in this area, especially as it relates to pain and stress management," CTC Continuing Education Director Teresa Chavez said.
The program will allow those interested in massage therapy an opportunity to take the state exam to become licensed.
The board also approved a notice to cancel the trustee regular election in May due to each incumbent running unopposed.
