KILLEEN (October 1, 2012)--A $50,000 grant was received by the city from Oncor for the installation of energy efficient lighting at the Killeen Arts and Activities Center.
The city installed 439 T8 light fixtures throughout the 80,000 square-foot multi-purpose center.
The center opened in March.
According to a city spokesperson, the KAAC lighting project is estimated to save more than 112,000 kilowatt-hours of energy and $10,000 annually.
Up to $50,000 in matching funds is awarded for city projects that save energy through Oncor’s City Matching Grant Program.
