KILLEEN (February 22, 2013)--A groundbreaking ceremony will be held Tuesday to welcome an expansion project that will decrease congestion in a widely-traveled area.
The project will provide more roadways, provide additional Fort Hood access and expand exits and the Fort Hood Main Gate and Hwy. 190.
Inside travel lanes will be added on Hwy. 190 and culverts and bridges will be upgraded and widened to include a concrete travel barrier between opposing lanes.
The ceremony is slated for 10 a.m. at the interchange of Spur 172 (Fort Hood Main Gate) and Hwy. 190.
The project is expected to be completed in the fall of 2015.
