KILLEEN (January 8, 2013)--A Killeen teenager will be one of thirty students across the state to educate legislators about tobacco issues and develop strategies to reduce its harmful effects.
Dominique L. Jefferson was selected to attend the third statewide Texas Youth Summit after applying for the opportunity to participate.
Delegates will address issues such as clean indoor air laws, current taxation levels on tobacco products and the importance of funding for tobacco prevention programs.
Students will then present their evidence-based strategies for change to lawmakers.
The youth delegates will meet in Austin Sunday through Wednesday.
