KILLEEN (March 8, 2013)--A Killeen woman was arrested Thursday after her 3-year-old daughter was left home alone, police said.

Tometra Armayne Houston, 26, was charged with abandoning a child with intent to return.

Her bond was set at $30,000.

She did not appear on the Bell County Jail log Friday.

In an arrest warrant affidavit, officers reported that at around 2:15 p.m. on March 1 they were sent to a home in the 3300 block of Hereford Drive after a caller reported finding a 3-year-old girl at home alone.

Officers found the child standing at the foot of a bed watching television, the affidavit said.

No adults were in the home, the affidavit said.

After investigating the officers determined the child's mother worked at the Killeen K-Mart, the affidavit said.

At about 3 p.m. a woman returned to the residence and during questioning admitted she had left the house at about 10 a.m. and left the child there alone, the affidavit said.

Further investigation revealed the child's father also left the residence at about 8:30 a.m. that day to go to work.

He was not charged.
