By: Brittany Semadeni Email

KILLEEN (April 27, 2012)—Early voting begins Monday for candidates in city and school elections throughout Central Texas, but interest could be higher than usual in Killeen where a large field of candidates is running to fill council seats left vacant by a recall election.

Early voting for mayor and five council members will take place from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and May 7-8 at the Killeen City Hall on North College Street.

On May 2 and 3, voters can vote from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.

If the Killeen Community Center on East Veteran Memorial Boulevard is closer to residents, they will also have the opportunity to vote there from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday and May 7 and 8.

Election Day is May 12.
