LAMPASAS (January 7, 2013)—The city is spending their first day without their Public Works Director Randy Clark, who retired Friday after nearly 30 years working for the city.

He was originally hired for the municipal inspection department, a newly created department, where he spent six years.

Later, as the public works director, Clark oversaw the city’s water, sewer and electric departments and worked closely with the city council on a variety of projects to help improve the city.

Clark is credited with helping a new wastewater treatment plant come to fruition as well as constructing several electric lines to help reduce power outages in the city.

Friday was Clark’s last day as a city employee since 1985.

He plans to spend his retirement enjoying moments with his family, he told city employees.
