TEMPLE (September 13, 2012)—A Temple contractor was indicted by the Bell County Grand Jury Wednesday after police say a man overcharged a woman $20,000 for home improvements in 2010.
Temple General Contractor Alan Bruce Stevenson, 48, was indicted for theft of more than $20,000, but less than $100,000.
According to the Bell County District Attorney’s office, the victim contacted police after she was presented with invoices that exceeded the cost of work performed.
In addition to, some subcontractors working on the home claimed they were not paid and in one instance, the woman says she was charged for work that she later found out was never performed.
