(October 4, 2012)--Fort Hood Area Habitat For Humanity will now operate under the name Bell County Habitat for Humanity.
About 5 years ago, the Temple/Belton Habitat joined forces with the Fort Hood Area Habitat.
On Thursday, the group announced their new identity as a result of the partnership.
In the last 6 years, more than 20 homes have been built in the Bell County area.
The group also serves Lampasas and Coryell Counties.
The next home to be built will be built in Copperas Cove, a spokesperson said.
The group builds affordable, energy efficient homes for low-income families using volunteer labor and providing a zero percent mortgage.
