(January 8, 2013)--The Texas Police Chiefs Association (TPCA) has named two local police chiefs to serve as board members.

Waco Police Chief Brent Stroman who previously served as the TPCA’s membership committee chair will now serve as the Region 9 Director, while Robinson Police Chief Rusty Smith has been appointed as the TPCA Strategic Planning Committee Chair as appointed by Harker Heights Police Chief and TPCA President Mike Gentry.

Stroman will represent 14 Central Texas municipal police agencies as a liason between the local agencies’ chiefs and the TPCA.

Smith’s duties will include providing “clear goals and strategies that give direction to the TPCA regarding its organizational role, professional development, community impacts and inter-departmental impacts.”

The TPCA is a statewide law enforcement administrator’s organization that addresses local criminal justice issues.

The board has been in existence for more than five decades.
