LORENA (November 14, 2012)--The community is hosting a celebration of support, strength and hope on Sunday after an automobile accident left 14-year-old Tanner Underwood with major brain trauma.
Tanner Underwood, son of James and Carol Underwood, suffered a traumatic brain injury after a car accident on I-35 in March.
Tanner is the son of a Baylor University law professor.
The community celebration will last from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in a casual atmosphere at Hog Creek Icehouse in Speegleville.
The family event is $15 for adults and $10 for children up through 7th grade.
Admission will cover dinner, live music, dancing, auction, games, raffles and more.
Raffle prizes will include an iPad and Kindle and Thanksgiving Day tickets to the Cowboys game are among the items to be auctioned off.
The event has been organized by several of Tanner’s classmates at Lorena High School who formed the “TU 32 Hope Crew” to offer support to the basketball and football player.
Proceeds will go toward the ongoing costs of Tanner’s recovery.
