MERIDIAN (June 29, 2013) -- The Meridian community came together Saturday to help raise money for St. Jude Hospital.

Darcy Cassidy is 9-years-old and was the star of the show at the first annual 'Saddle Up For St. Jude".

In 2009, the young girl beat a highly aggressive form of brain cancer.

Just recently Darcy and her family learned her tumor came back.

She is currently undergoing chemotherapy.

Darcy's parents Michael and Cathy Cassidy organized the fundraiser to thank St. Jude for all the help they have given their daughter and other sick children everywhere.

The goal for the fundraiser was to raise $10,000.

Darcy's family describes her tumor as treatable but not curable.

They said they're holding on to hope through their faith and will get through Darcy's illness together.
