MARLIN (October 5, 2012)—A fight that exploded into what police said was a riot in a Marlin neighborhood sent two people to a local hospital with minor injuries, authorities said Friday.
Some arrests have been made and others were pending Friday, police said.
The fight was reported at around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of Park Street in Marlin where officers found about 20 young people yelling and making threats.
Some of them had cuts and abrasions and one was taken by ambulance to Falls Community Hospital where he was treated and later released.
A second person taken to the hospital by private car was also treated and released, police said.
Because of the number of people involved, Marlin police requested assistance from the Falls County Sheriff’s Office, the Department of Public Safety, the Lott and Rosebud Police Departments and two county constables.
Witnesses told officers that the fight “quickly turned into a large uncontrollable gathering,” police said in a press release Friday.
Arrests were made at the scene for misdemeanor riot participation and additional warrants have been issued, police said Friday.
