MARLIN (March 4, 2013)-Fire heavily damaged a vacant house in Marlin Monday morning, but no one was injured.
Marlin Fire Department Lt. Justin E. Parker said fire units were sent at around 6:35 a.m. Monday to a house at 528 Rickleman St., where the first units on the scene reported smoke and flames coming from the single-story, wood-frame structure.
Parker said no one lived in the small house that sits across the street from the Bernard Street Church of Christ.
The inside of the house was heavily damaged by fire and smoke, Parker said, and it likely would be determined to be a total loss.
There was no indication early of how the fire may have started.
Firefighters had the blaze under control within a few minutes, Parker said.
