Marlin: Month-Old Boil Order Lifted

MARLIN (December 7, 2012)—A boil order issued on Nov. 8 for Marlin water customers after a mistake involving misdirected chemicals caused the city’s water plant to shut down was lifted at 4:30 p.m. Friday.

Steps have been taken to restore adequate pressure and tests confirm the water is free of contaminants and that water intended for consumption no longer needs to be boiled, the city said.

While repairs were made, the city used a portable system, but the city’s plant was up and running Friday and the portable plant is no longer needed, officials said.
