MART (July 11, 2013)--Power had been restored Thursday morning after about 1,100 customers were left without.
The outage happened Wednesday evening and some residents were left without power for several hours.
Oncor said Thursday crews were making necessary repairs to the power lines, however, adding to the challenge was that the alternate source of power was temporarily out of service.
“Whenever repairs are being made we always try to have a switching option, or alternate source, so that electricity stays on,” South Region Manager Mike Cain said.
“The outage took longer than wished and we are very sorry to all of those that were affected,” he said.
Cain added that wires get exposed to numerous outside elements and sometimes it takes a while for those issues to come to surface.
Power was restored by Thursday morning and Cain said both power sources were up and running.
