Michael D'Angelo (Jail photo)
MCGREGOR (November 27, 2012)--A McGregor teenager was held Tuesday in the McLennan County Jail after he was arrested on a warrant charging sexual assault.
Michael D'Angelo, 17, was ordered held in lieu of $20,000 bond charged with sexual assault.
An affidavit obtained Tuesday by News 10 says on Aug. 19, a female victim younger than 17 reported a man had sexual intercourse with her against her will.
Police took the victim to Providence Health Center, in Waco, where a sexual assault nurse examiner performed a test on the victim and obtained DNA evidence that subsequently was sent to the Department of Public Safety for analysis, according to the affidavit.
The affidavit says D'Angelo was interviewed by police and denied having sex with the girl.
The document further says D'Angelo consented to having his DNA tested and after a sample was obtained it was compared to the sample taken from the victim.
The affidavit says when the two samples were compared they indicated a match between the evidence taken from the victim and that taken from D'Angelo.
