MCLENNAN COUNTY (September 13, 2013)--An area woman was held Friday in the McLennan County Jail on hot check and forgery charges stemming from incidents in Woodway, as well as Waco.
McLennan County Sheriff's deputies arrested Adriana Nicole Fossett, 26, Thursday in Coryell County on warrants charging forgery and theft by check and on a motion to revoke her probation on a robbery conviction from 2012.
She was ordered held on bonds totaling $13,000 on the forgery and theft charge and without bond on the motion to revoke.
Woodway Public Safety Director Yost Zakhary said his department obtained a warrant for forgery after several bogus checks were cashed at businesses in Woodway.
Waco police Officer Steve Anderson said detectives obtained a warrant on one of the forgery charges after a relative reported several checks had been drawn on a closed bank account.
Anderson also said Fossett pleaded guilty to a robbery charge stemming from a 2012 shoplifting incident at the Waco Dillard's store in which she resisted as security guards tried to detain her.
