MCLENNAN COUNTY (December 18, 2013) The McLennan County Grand Jury Wednesday indicted Erick Osval Escobedo-Contreras, 22, on two counts of intoxication manslaughter in a highway crash in October that left two women dead.
The accident happened on Oct. 12 on U.S. Highway 84 just west of FM 939 east of Waco when the eastbound Ford Taurus Escobedo-Contereras was driving veered into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a 2013 Hyundai.
The driver of the Hyundai, Virginia Olivarez, 61, of Mexia, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger in the Hyundai, Olivarez's mother Mary Jordan, 85, of Buffalo, was taken to an area hospital where she later died from her injuries.
Escobedo-Contreras and a passenger in the Taurus, Jose Perez, 18, were also taken to the hospital.
