WACO (May 9, 2014) A Missouri man was held Friday in the McLennan County Jail after he was arrested on an indictment handed up in Missouri in March stemming from a theft from the company for which he worked.
Joel Todd Wishne, 49, was ordered held without bond charged with devising a scheme to defraud and illegally obtain assets from Safe Vision, LLC, a company for which he is a founding member.
Safe Vision is a company that manufactures and distributes eyewear for industry, sport and family wear, both nationally and internationally.
The indictment says Wishne served as an account for the company and in that position was responsible for collecting revenue and paying bills.
Investigators say during his service as accountant, Wishne inflated receipts and embezzled money from the company, which he converted to personal use.
Investigators say over the life of the scheme more than $825,000 was stolen.
