MCLENNAN COUNTY (April 10, 2013)—The Bosqueville ISD placed its elementary and secondary schools on lockdown briefly early Wednesday afternoon while McLennan County deputies looked for a man who was reported to be suicidal and headed to one of the campuses.
The McLennan County Sheriff’s Office received a report that the man wanted to kill himself in front of his children and was headed to Bosqueville Elementary School.
Deputies found the man’s abandoned car and traced the man to the Bush’s Chicken restaurant at Baylor Camp Road and China Spring Highway.
When Sheriff Parnell McNamara, Chief Deputy Matt Cawthon and several other deputies entered the restaurant, the man produced a pistol and held it to the head of a woman whom he intended to use a shield, authorities said.
McNamara was able to disarm the man after a brief struggle, authorities said.
Christopher Donaldson was arrested on an outstanding warrant and faces charges of aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, authorities said.
The lockdown was ended after deputies advised the school district the man was in custody.
