MCLENNAN COUNTY (September 6, 2012)—Members of The Salvation Army of McLennan County deployed Wednesday to New Orleans to assist people affected by Hurricane Isaac.
They plan to serve meals to people in the downtown area.
In response to the storm, The Salvation Army as a whole has provided more than 53,000 meals, nearly 62,000 drinks, more than 40,000 snacks, emotional and spiritual support to more than 1,500 individuals, distributed 901 comfort kits and sheltered 931 people, the organization said.
